What is Youth Athlete of the Year?
Learn MoreShe loves the competition, the friendships, and being part of a team that works toward the same goal. Softball gives her a place to challenge herself, celebrate her teammates, and learn from both successes and failures. She loves the feeling of making a great play, coming through for her team, and knowing that every practice and game is another opportunity to improve.
She is inspired by the strong women and girls she sees competing in softball at the highest levels. She admires athletes who prove that success isn’t just about talent—it’s about hard work, confidence, resilience, and how you treat the people around you. She also looks up to her coaches and teammates who continually challenge her, believe in her, and remind her that being a great teammate is just as important as being a great player.
My proudest moments aren’t necessarily the big hits or great plays—they’re the times I’ve watched her respond when things didn’t go her way. Travel softball can be demanding, and at 13 she’s already learned how to handle pressure, disappointment, tough losses, and mistakes, then come back ready to work. Watching her develop that resilience, while continuing to support her teammates and love the game, makes me incredibly proud.
