What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Kaylee loves the discipline it takes to be a competitive studio trained dancer. Not only does it keep her joints active, but she loves the relationships and life long skills she will carry for a life time.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Kaylee has inspirations of becoming an Arkansas Razorback Dancer. She truly admires how rigorously they train and how hard it is to make the team. Her disease also has inspired her at her young age to possibly pursue a degree in Pediatric Rheumatology. Her goal in life is to overcome her battles whilst helping others overcome their own.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

This past year Kaylee had a significant arthritis flare up in her left ankle as we were at a competition. As a dancer your left ankle is what you use to do almost everything. She powered through with the help of an athletic trainer, medications, ice, and her coaches/teammates support. I’ve never been more proud! She may have collapsed off stage after most performances, but with every sliver of uncertainty she felt while on stage she powered through.
