What is Youth Athlete of the Year?
Learn MoreKedrick loves the competition and the trust his team puts in him every time he touches the ball. Since freshman year on varsity, he’s earned his spot through hard work, not luck. He loves the physicality of the running back position, breaking tackles, finding the gap, and finishing every run strong. Football also gives him a sense of purpose and discipline that carries into the classroom, where he keeps his grades up while balancing a full varsity schedule.
Family inspires Kedrick most. Family taught him that talent only gets you so far — it’s the extra reps, the film study, and showing up every day that separates good players from great ones. Kedrick carries that mindset onto the field every Friday night, and it shows in how consistently he’s performed since stepping onto varsity as a freshman.
The proudest moment was watching Kedrick score as a freshman on varsity but what stood out most wasn’t just the touchdown. It was how locked in he was on the details of the game: reading blocks, setting up his cuts, doing the small things right. That maturity at such a young age showed me he wasn’t just talented, he was serious about the game.
