What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Keeon loves football and basketball because they challenge him to compete, work hard, and become better every day. He loves the brotherhood, the excitement of the game, and pushing himself to reach new goals. For Keeon, sports are more than a game, they are where his passion, determination, and love for competition come alive. He strives for being better than the day before and life skills are being learned to understand true discipline that will be used beyond the court or field in life.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Keeon is inspired by the strong people in his life, especially his mom and grandmothers, who are lifelong educators and have taught him the importance of hard work, education, and never giving up. In sports, he looks up to George Kittle for his energy, toughness, and passion for football, and Kevin Durant for his dedication, confidence, and commitment to becoming one of the best. Together, they inspire Keeon to work hard in the classroom, compete with heart, and keep chasing his dreams.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

My proudest moment is watching Keeon’s journey and the resilience behind every achievement. Two years ago, a major knee injury led to surgery and a long road of rehab. He fought his way back to full recovery and is now thriving. This past year competing at the AYF National Tournament, becoming an Arizona D1 State Football Champion and a Native Nationals Basketball Champion. The trophies make me proud, but the strength it took to come back makes me proudest.
