What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

For our son Keith, hockey is pure freedom. He loves the electric chill of early morning rinks, the satisfying crunch of ice under his skates, and the thrill of moving as one with his team. To him, the locker room is a second home and his teammates are family. Nothing beats the rush of chasing down a puck, making a great pass, or celebrating a hard-earned goal together. More than a sport, hockey is where he tests his limits, finds his voice, and feels entirely in his element.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

My dad is my biggest inspiration both on and off the ice. From tying my skates before sunrise to encouraging me through every victory and setback, he leads by example. He taught me that true strength isn't just about scoring goals, but about staying resilient, respecting the game, and lifting up my teammates ~ my “brotherhood”. His endless support in getting me extra skills training, his dedication, and work ethic inspire me to give 100% in every shift and live with integrity everywhere I go.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

Cut from his first tryout, our devastated Keith kept his rejection letter unbeknownst to us. Years later, his teacher revealed he brought it to a speech on life-changing moments. While classmates shared happy events, Keith was the only one to present a hardship he turned into a positive by using it as fuel to make travel teams since then. Turning that heartbreak into relentless drive showed us his true resilience and character: our proudest realization of who he is on and off the ice.
