What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Baseball is everything! So happy when I am on the field! Building lifelong skills &relationships. The thrill of hitting the ball, striking out that big hitter, or running the bases. Every game and practice is a gift. I live for the competition and the fact that you never know how the game will end until it’s over. Baseball is a team sport with individual contributions from all your teammates. There is nothing about baseball I don’t love.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

My family inspires me. They love to watch me play. My teammates inspire me to play and practice harder. My coaches inspire me to train harder and perform better. I inspire myself with personal goals and expectations to be better as a human, teammate, family member. God inspires me because I am thankful for my talent and the gifts I have been blessed with.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

I broke my hip while playing baseball and was out for most of my freshman summer ball season. I went to every game and learned how to be a supportive teammate from the bench. I kept stats & helped the coaches. After a lot of time off, Physical therapy and hard work I got back on the field. I set goals,came back and implemented a stretching preventative routine. I appreciate my body, its limitations, its ability to heal and how to better care for it. I am proud of myself for this!
