What is Youth Athlete of the Year?
Learn MoreKennedy loves the friendships, teamwork, and excitement of competition. She enjoys encouraging her teammates, challenging herself to improve every day, and giving her best effort whether she’s cheering from the sidelines or competing on the basketball court.
Her Dad is her inspiration. Her dad played basketball in high school and college. He has coached her over the years and has taught her the meaning of working hard and teamwork. Her father has been a living example and what it truly means to give your heart and soul to the game of basketball. He has been an inspiration for her since she was in the fourth grade and every since then they’ve had a ritual of working out on weekends. He has spent countless days, hours, and months teaching her the game.
One of the accomplishments that has made me the proudest as Kennedy’s mother isn’t measured by trophies or statistics—it’s her character. Throughout her athletic journey, she has experienced both winning seasons and difficult losing seasons. No matter the outcome, she has remained positive, humble, and committed to giving her very best. Watching her respond to both victory and disappointment with grace has been an honor.
