Learn MoreKeon loves the competition, the adrenaline, and being part of a team. He enjoys, pushing himself to get better, learning from his coaches, and challenging himself to see what he can accomplish. Most of all, he loves the feeling of working hard and seeing that hard work pay off on the field. Sports give him confidence, discipline, and a place to be himself.
Keon is inspired by his mom and the people who continue to believe in him and push him to be his best. As his mom, I remind him that talent can take you far, but hard work, discipline, respect, and consistency will take him even far further. He is also inspired by athletes who have worked through challenges and never gave up on their dreams. He wants to become someone younger athletes can look up to.
One of the moments that makes me proud is watching Keon continue to push through challenges and never give up, even when things don’t go exactly as planned. At only 14, I’ve watched him grow not just as an athlete, but as a young man. Seeing him work hard, listen to his coaches, support his teammates, and keep believing in himself reminds me that the greatest victory isn’t always the scoreboard. It’s the person he’s becoming.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Youth Athlete of the Year, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
