What is Youth Athlete of the Year?
Learn MoreKhalil loves being part of a team and the excitement that comes with every game. Whether he's playing baseball, soccer, or basketball, he's happiest when he's learning something new, encouraging his teammates, and giving his best effort. He loves the challenge of improving his skills and believes every practice and game is a chance to grow, have fun, and make new friends.
Khalil's biggest inspiration is his dad, who coaches his baseball team. He looks up to him not only because he's his coach, but because he teaches him to work hard, be a great teammate, and always give his best. Khalil is always eager to listen to his coaches in every sport and even watches and learns from older athletes. He's constantly asking questions, practicing, and looking for ways to improve, no matter the game.
One moment that stands out was during baseball when a teammate was struggling and feeling discouraged. Instead of focusing on himself, Khalil went over to encourage him, cheered him on, and helped build his confidence. At just 7 years old, he naturally stepped into a leadership role without being asked. That moment reminded me that the best athletes aren't just measured by their talent, but by how they lift up the people around them.
