What is Youth Athlete of the Year?
Learn MoreKia’i loves challenging himself and seeing how far his hard work can take him. Whether he’s wrestling, training in jiu-jitsu, running track, or playing football, he enjoys pushing himself to improve. Each sport challenges him differently, and he loves the discipline, competition, teamwork, and opportunity to become a stronger athlete and person.
His younger siblings are some of his biggest inspirations. They look up to him, and he takes being their big brother seriously. He constantly strives to be the best version of himself because he knows they are watching his example. He wants to show his sister and brother that hard work, discipline, perseverance, and commitment can take them far in whatever they choose to pursue.
What makes me proudest isn’t one win or medal, but watching Kia’i continue to show up. Balancing multiple sports requires discipline, sacrifice, and resilience, and he continues to challenge himself even when things are difficult. Seeing him grow into an athlete who works hard, stays committed, and sets an example for his younger siblings has been one of our proudest experiences as his parents.
