What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Sports allow me to shine. I have been playing sports since I was 4 years old, and now at 12, I compete in baseball, basketball, football, and track. Sports are where I feel confident, recognized, and seen. I believe I was born to be an athlete. I love pushing myself, competing, and getting better every day.I am proud to be handed the torch to continue a legacy of athletes before me and be the one who takes it to the finish line. Its in me.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Stephen Curry inspires me because he is the greatest of all time. Wearing #30, the same number I was born on, reminds me that #s can represent purpose, growth, and greatness. Steph played multiple sports b4 choosing basketball, proving finding your passion takes time. Like Steph, I stayed loyal to my team even when I had opportunities to join others because I want to help bring a championship home. His story motivates me to keep improving, stay committed, and become the best athlete I can be.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

My proudest athletic moment was hitting three home runs during my first year of travel baseball. It showed me that all my hard work was paying off, and I felt proud, confident, and excited. As the only African American boy in the league, people told me I should only play basketball and football instead of baseball. Instead of letting those comments stop me, they motivated me.
