At only 8 years old and in his first year of football, Konnor plays quarterback, offensive line, and defensive tackle while being a captain.
Thank you for supporting Konnor in this competition. Your participation made a huge impact for the Why Not You Foundation and their mission to empower change in the world, one individual at a time and one child at a time.
What is Youth Athlete of the Year?
Learn MoreWhat they love most about playing football is being part of a team, competing, and having the opportunity to play multiple positions. At just 8 years old, Konnor loves learning the game, challenging himself, and doing whatever he can to help his team. Football gives him a place to have fun, build confidence, and make memories with his teammates and coaches.
Konnor is inspired by his late dad, who continues to be a source of strength and motivation for him. His family, coaches, and teammates inspire him to work hard, stay positive, and never give up. As a team captain, Konnor takes pride in leading by example, encouraging his teammates, and showing leadership, toughness, and teamwork both on and off the field. He is motivated to make his dad proud while becoming the best athlete and person he can be.
As his parent, I am most proud of the way Konnor continues to show strength, determination, and leadership. Losing his dad has been incredibly difficult, but he continues to push forward and give his best both on and off the field. Watching him become a captain at such a young age, encourage his teammates, and take on the challenge of playing multiple positions makes me extremely proud. More than his athletic abilities, I am proud of the young man he is becoming—strong, caring, hardworking.
