What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Kristen loves that soccer challenges her to be brave, creative, and part of something bigger than herself. She loves working with teammates, creating scoring opportunities, and helping her team succeed. Whether she's playing striker, midfield, left, right, or center, she enjoys finding ways to impact the game. Soccer has taught her confidence, discipline, and resilience, and she loves every opportunity to compete and improve.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Kristen is inspired by Lionel Messi because he proves that greatness comes from hard work, intelligence, and determination, not size. Her biggest inspiration is her dad, who dreamed of playing soccer at a high level but chose family first and dedicated himself to helping her achieve her dreams. She is also inspired by her mom, Bridget, who reminds her every day to dream big, work hard, and believe anything is possible.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

One of the proudest moments in Kristen's journey was watching her confidently compete against players much older and bigger than herself. For three years she played alongside boys, which helped develop her toughness and skill. Now, as a 2015 player competing against 2014, 2013, and even 2012 players, she never backs down from a challenge. Seeing her earn the respect of older teammates through her hard work, courage, and soccer IQ makes us incredibly proud.
