Join the CompetitionLaila enjoys the challenge of soccer. Putting a ball on her feet and testing her skills against an opponent is something she just can't get enough of. She also enjoys the thought process behind ball distribution and field awareness. I think her favorite thing about soccer is her ability to go out there leave it all on the field all while still enjoying the sport.
I think that her inspiration is her dad. Laila has grown up moving around alot as a military child. Nothing would bring her more joy then when her dad was able to make it to her games. Now as the kid of a retired marine, Laila is not only inspired by her dad but also is able to be coached by him as well. The bond between those 2 is undeniable but both of them are still growing and learning, now from each other.
Even with a torn labrum, Laila went into the playoff games determined to fight through the pain. She went in and literally played until her body physically wouldn't let her. Taking a corner she went down, but knowing she did that selflessly for the team and the game. She definitely set the tone that day.
