Lakota loves playing basketball because it challenges her mentally and physically. It teaches her something new every game, whether its improving her skills, working with her teammates and being a leader for the younger generations, and staying focused under pressure. It has helped her create lasting friendships and that hard work and dedication pays off both on and off the court.
Dennis Rodman would be one of Lakota's role models she looks up too. He has shown her that even though he wasn't a Scorer on the court, he contributed to his team by getting offensive and defensive rebounds and being a great teammate. Coach Gary Sorenson has inspired her to believe in herself, stay humble, and inspire the younger generations that no matter the circumstances to always work hard to achieve your goals.
From the start of her Freshman year, she has had varsity coaches that downgraded her basketball skills but yet she was the first one off the bench to come in and play when needed. She has went from having a mental break during those years to coming into her senior year with a new confidence due to Coach Sorenson and signing with McPherson College to play basketball fall of 2027.
