What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Landon loves the calming feeling he gets after running or swimming. He states that it helps him to feel more grounded and level headed. He loves the rush of being the fastest runner or swimmer and the sense of accomplishment once he has finished a race.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Landon is inspired by one of his best friends (Wally) because he gives him the competition he needs to be better. They typically play the same sports together and this allows Landon to constantly be challenged. He is always complementing Landon and helping him to strive for higher goals. Whenever Landon has a hard day Wally is always there for him encouraging him to never allow him to get down on himself or his abilities.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

The moment that made me the proudest of Landon is when he recently received the Sportsmanship award for his track and field team: he is competitive but always congratulating his team mates and other students that he is challenged against whether it is a school rival or an unsportsmanlike player he will still always tell them what a great job they did and shake their hands. As a parent there is nothing better then seeing your child help to make the world a better place everyday through sports.
