What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Lauryn values the leadership opportunities sports provide, serving as both a team captain and karate mentor. She enjoys helping others grow while also developing discipline, perseverance, and confidence herself. She thrives in a team environment, working toward shared goals, supporting teammates through challenges and successes, and building meaningful connections that extend beyond competition.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Lauryn is inspired by her family who has always supported her no matter the outcome of her athletic journey. They encourage her to continue to work hard, stay kind, and always try her best. Lauryns Sensei has always supported her from the beginning and pushed her to her full potential, she is a role model to Lauryn and not only supports her in karate but also encourages her in her social life and during softball. Her guidance consistently reminds Lauryn of how hard work can reward you

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

Watching Lauryn compete at Nationals around age 10 was the first time I saw her fierce determination truly come alive on the karate mat. She kicked some serious butt, and we were overwhelmed with pride! More recently, watching her confidence and skill grow in softball has been just as special. Having grown up playing myself, seeing her fall in love with the sport and make it her own has been one of the greatest highlights of my life.
