From local championships to the 2026 Fastpitch World Series, she outworks everyone (12yo pitching 52mph) with heart, hustle, and humility.
Thank you for supporting Layla in this competition. Your participation made a huge impact for the Why Not You Foundation and their mission to empower change in the world, one individual at a time and one child at a time.
What is Youth Athlete of the Year?
Learn More“I love playing sports because I get to make new friends, spend time with my teammates, and learn how to be a leader. I love competing and pushing myself to get better. Playing different sports also gives me new challenges, and I like seeing how much I can improve when I work hard.”
“My mom and dad inspire me because they both played sports and understand how much work it takes. They always encourage me to do my best, even when I have a bad game or things don’t go my way. They’ve taught me to work hard, be a good teammate, and never give up on myself.”
Watching her compete at the 2026 Fastpitch World Series in Panama City Beach was one of my proudest moments. Not simply because she made it there, but because I knew how much work was behind it. She practices or plays six days a week and has spent years growing as an athlete and teammate. At only 12, seeing her step onto that stage with confidence made every practice, sacrifice, win, and loss along the way worth it.
