What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

What I love most about sports is the energy, competition, and connection I feel every time I step on the court. Whether I’m playing volleyball or basketball, I love the thrill of a great play, pushing myself beyond what I thought I could do, and being part of a team working toward one goal. Sports give me a place to turn my passion into purpose while continually challenging myself to become a stronger athlete, teammate, and competitor.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

My greatest inspiration is my mom. I’ve watched her face difficult moments in life while raising four children and continue to find a way forward, turning challenges into motivation instead of allowing them to become limitations. Her resilience has taught me to approach life and athletics the same way: stay positive, keep working, never give up when things become difficult, and always find a way to move forward.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

One of my proudest moments was watching Leilani compete at AAU Nationals. I watched her step onto one of the biggest stages of her young volleyball career and play with confidence, intensity, and heart. I was proud not simply because of how well she performed, but because I could see years of hard work coming together. Watching her encourage her teammates, lead through her play, and remain positive showed me the athlete—and young woman—she is becoming
