What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

He supports 3 team levels for a FC. To keep him well-rounded he plays defensive field for one level and goalkeeper for the rest. He loves the idea of playing chess in a fast action environment while being under pressure. He also does it for the camaraderie. We say he has a heart team that is his anchor for the love of the sport, and the others help him develop to the next athletic level.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Leo gets his inspiration straight from his teammates, on and off the field. Whether they're hanging out or in the middle of a game, he just wants to be the best friend and goalie he can be for them. That bond is real, during a recent intra-team scrimmage, almost the whole squad swarmed him, to convince him to be in their goal. Leo genuinely wants to see every kid on the team succeed and reach their own goals, no matter what it takes.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

The proudest moments are when he celebrates his teammates success and supports them through tough times. One specific moment was when he was on field and a novice GK was in goal, he would go back and check on his teammate, encourage him after conceding a goal, and celebrate him after saves. You could see how much it meant to the novice GK and their family. We love seeing his heart for others and the game.
