What is Youth Athlete of the Year?
Learn MoreI think he loves the competitiveness of the sport, he can play and work together with his team and gets so into the game in the moment sometimes he forgets he needs a break! He is also good at explaining or helping other less experienced players understand a drill they’re doing or where a kick in should be.
He says Messi because he’s the goat!! He likes the way Messi plays and sometimes tries to play like him, he’s even got the Messi hair cut! We’ve noticed Liam trying to do some of the fancy moves the pros do and he works on them in his trampoline as well!
I think he had a rough start to the game, he had asked to play a few years ago but didn’t really enjoy it. He would sit or stand on the field talking or just walk off and ask to go home. He started playing with friends at school even in the middle of winter with the ice and snow they were out there building their skill. He went from not participating with very little skill to a great player and teammate, his skills, attention and persistence are really impressive. Rep soccer here he comes!
