What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

What he loves most about baseball is being on the field with his buddies and interacting with teammates and other players. He enjoys making new friends and being part of a team. He especially loves playing catcher. I have to give him credit because he chose one of the toughest positions in baseball. He embraces the challenge, loves being involved in every pitch, and takes pride in helping lead his team from behind the plate.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

He is inspired by many people on and off the field. In baseball, he looks up to Shohei Ohtani, Freddie Freeman, and Alejandro Kirk. He loves Tom Brady’s Hall of Fame speech and carries its message with him when he needs motivation. Off the field, his older sister inspires him, especially seeing her earn straight A’s and make the honor roll. Most of all, we inspire him to believe he can accomplish anything. We remind him that setbacks are part of life, get back up, work harder, and keep going.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

One of my proudest moments was watching him win a championship game with several boys from the 7U team there cheer on the 9U team. After the game, Liam took the championship game ball and gave it to one of the younger boys. That moment showed me that winning wasn’t just about him. He wanted to inspire and encourage the younger players. It made me realize he has a great heart and the potential to be a strong role model for others.
