Learn MoreLilly loves the competition. With track she gets challenged both individually and as a team with both relays and team scores. She loves that her accomplishments can’t be overlooked because the stopwatch doesn’t lie and she has no one else to blame if things don’t go well that day. She also loves the environment, getting to meet new people and make new friends of which she has many!
When she started as a Freshman she was inspired by Lily Huber who was a senior at the time. She always had a positive attitude and was always willing to help those who needed and wanted it. And on a bigger stage Shakari Richardson because she has mastered her craft doing it her way while putting in all the work necessary to achieve her goals.
While her winning a state championship as a sophomore was the most amazing thing to watch, the hard work and determination during both of her recoveries were my proudest moments! After the 2nd unexpected surgery the chips were definitely stacked against her. Lilly worked through literal blood, sweat, and tears to regain all that she had lost never accepting that she would not be able to qualify for both Drake and State. I don’t think I could have been more proud of her.
