What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Lily loves playing with her teammates and pushes herself every day to improve. She puts in extra training in the gym and on the ice, focusing on the areas she feels will help her be ready for the season. Lily also loves to run for fun and enjoys seeing her times improve and her body get stronger. In soccer, her teammates mean so much to her. She changed clubs four years ago and has never been happier.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Lily is fortunate to have fantastic coaches in both hockey and soccer. She loves how they challenge her, push her to grow, and teach her the importance of teamwork. She has always been inspired by hockey stars Marie-Philip Poulin, Hilary Knight, and Sarah Fillier. Having met them and watched them play, Lily is motivated by their determination and success. Seeing these women excel inspires her every day to work hard, push herself, and find her own path.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

At just 9 years old, Lily faced a difficult hockey season that was slowly taking away her love for the game. After many talks, she bravely decided to leave her friends and familiar team for a fresh start with a new coach. Nervous and much smaller than the other girls, she stepped onto the ice with a new team where she knew no one. She played with speed, skill and a huge smile. She made the team, found a supportive coach, and fell in love with hockey again. We couldn’t be prouder.
