Learn MoreWhat I love most about football is competing with my teammates and being part of something bigger than myself. As a linebacker, I like reading the offense, communicating with the defense and making a play that helps the whole team. The best part is the brotherhood. We push each other to improve, work toward the same goals and know that everyone has to do his job for us to succeed.
My strength and conditioning coach, Vern, inspires me most. He has taught me that improving takes consistency and a willingness to work, even when it is difficult. He pushes me to become stronger, faster and better every day. He has also shown me how the discipline, effort and accountability I develop in the weight room carry over to football and everything else I do.
The moment I’m proudest of is earning a starting position at SAM linebacker on varsity. Making varsity was a big goal, but I’m even more proud of the work it took to get there. I chose to step away from wrestling, track and rugby so I could focus completely on football. I spent the offseason working to get bigger, stronger and faster. Seeing all that work pay off and earning my position meant a lot to me.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Youth Athlete of the Year, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
