What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Luca loves the challenge of football and the feeling of being part of a team. He enjoys competing, learning new things, and pushing himself to become a better player. Whether he is playing offense or defense, he loves having a role that allows him to contribute and help his teammates succeed.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Luca is inspired by his family, especially the younger siblings who look up to him. As the oldest of six, he naturally takes on a leadership role and understands that his actions set an example for those around him. His faith in God also inspires him to work hard, stay humble, and allow Jesus to guide his path. He wants to be someone his siblings and teammates can depend on.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

In Luca’s first scrimmage, he was getting triple-teamed almost every play. Three guys were on him, tackling him and knocking him down, but he never gave up. Coach took him out for a few minutes to get water, and my husband asked if he was okay and how he felt. Luca simply said, “I mean, it’s hard. But I’m having fun.” I was so proud to hear those words. No matter how hard he got knocked down, he got back up and kept going. That’s the kind of heart I’m so proud of.
