What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

What Lucy loves the most about gymnastics is learning new skills and challenging herself to get better. She loves the feeling when she finally lands a skill she has been working so hard on! She loves that her family is always cheering her on even though we are not a gymnast family. Gymnastics has taught her so many things but most importantly it has taught her to never give up and to keep pushing until her goals have been met.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

My mom inspires me the most because she always believes in me and encourages me to never give up. She is always there to cheer me on, even when I’m frustrated or something to hard for me. She reminds me to stay positive, keep practicing, and to always walk with my head held high. I want to be strong, beautiful and hardworking just like my mommy. She is not only my biggest supporter, but also my role model and my biggest inspiration.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

One of the moments that makes me the proudest is just watching her teach herself new gymnastics skills. She is incredibly self-motivated and never gives up when something is challenging. She will seek advice from her classmates who do gymnastic and she will literally practice, try again, and push herself until she gets it. Seeing her excitement when she finally accomplishes something she worked so hard for makes me so proud.
