When I asked him who inspires him, he didn’t hesitate before saying, “Delmar, because he’s my dad.” At six years old, inspiration is simple. To him, his dad is someone he looks up to, wants to be like, and loves very much. No matter what, he sees his dad as someone important in his life. Hearing that answer reminds me how deeply children admire the people they love and how much those relationships shape who they become.
Watching him play U9 has made me prouder than I can put into words. Seeing him step onto the field with confidence, work hard, listen to his coaches, and support his teammates has been incredible to watch. It’s not just about the sport—it’s about seeing him grow into a kind, determined, and resilient little boy who gives his best and has so much fun doing it. Watching him develop both as a player and as a person has been one of my proudest moments as his mom.
