What is Youth Athlete of the Year?
Learn MoreSports have taught him discipline, accountability, and perseverance. He loves the challenge of improving his skills, competing with integrity, and being part of something bigger than himself. The friendships he’s formed and the opportunity to celebrate successes with his teammates and family are what make playing sports so rewarding.
My son is inspired by Shohei Ohtani because of his incredible work ethic, humility, and dedication to the game. He admires Ohtani’s ability to excel as both a pitcher and a hitter, proving that hard work and perseverance can lead to extraordinary achievements. Beyond his talent, he respects the way Ohtani remains humble, puts his team first, and serves as a positive role model on and off the field.
One of the moments that made me the proudest was watching him hit his first home run. It wasn’t just the accomplishment itself, it was seeing the hard work, dedication, and countless hours of practice finally pay off. The excitement on his face, the support from his teammates, and the confidence he gained from that moment reminded me that perseverance and commitment truly make success meaningful.
