Macelyn loves the challenge, competition, and excitement that come with each of the sports she plays. In gymnastics, she loves learning new skills and pushing herself to improve. In flag football, she enjoys making plays and competing with her teammates. In lacrosse, she loves the fast pace, teamwork, and excitement of the game. Most of all, Macelyn loves being active, having fun, and creating memories with her teammates.
Macelyn is inspired by her coaches, teammates, and athletes like Simone Biles and Jordan Chiles. She admires their strength, confidence, and dedication, and how they show that women can be powerful, successful, and fearless in sports. Her coaches and teammates also inspire her to communicate more, speak up, and support others. She wants to be a strong teammate who encourages others, celebrates their successes, and helps everyone feel confident.
The moment that makes me proudest of Macelyn wasn’t becoming the 2026 State Champion, but how she handled failure the year before. After falling off the beam at States, she was disappointed but didn’t give up. She powered through her remaining events and finished strong. Watching her learn to handle setbacks, stay determined, and keep going meant more than any medal. Her championship this year was incredible, but the strength she gained from that difficult moment makes me proudest.
