My daughter is 7 years old and already shows so much dedication and passion for being the best gymnast she can be. She lives for this sport!

What is Youth Athlete of the Year?
Learn MoreFrom the moment she was born, we knew she was going to do something in the gymnastics/tumbling world. She has always been doing some sort of flip, roll, or split! What she loves most about gymnastics is that she gets to challenge herself and accomplish things she once thought she would never be able to do. She loves learning new skills, pushing herself outside of her comfort zone, and seeing her hard work pay off.
One of her biggest inspirations is Simone Biles. Maddie loves knowing that Simone has talked openly about having ADHD and has still gone on to become one of the greatest gymnasts of all time. Maddie sees some of those same struggles in herself, and I think it gives her so much hope to see someone who understands those challenges not only succeed, but absolutely THRIVE in a sport she loves.
Maddie is one of the loudest cheerleaders on her team! Even though she placed 1st at State and earned the title of State Champion, one of my favorite things about watching her compete this year was seeing how hard she cheered for her teammates. She genuinely LOVES seeing her friends succeed! She is a natural at this sport, and while we are so proud of her accomplishments, we want to make sure we’re teaching her that being great also means being humble, encouraging, and happy for others!
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Youth Athlete of the Year, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
