Makayla draws strength from her older sister, a collegiate athlete whose hard work, faith, and dedication light the way. A multi‑sport standout and devoted mentor, her sister’s mission trips and compassion inspire Makayla to model those same values, carrying forward the principles her sister lives every day.
Makayla reached the WIAA State Championships in the 300 hurdles after picking up the event this year. As a freshman racing a field of seniors, she battled through a brutal sectional, then PR’d at state by over a second and beat her seed by two places. She capped it off by making the 4×400 podium with her teammates. Her grit, work ethic, and behind‑the‑scenes dedication make me so proud of her. Her light always shines to others as she is humble and kind and loving.
