He is always preparing for the next play and is deeply fascinated by the science behind every pitch. While he enjoys his own successes, he is ultimately a dedicated teammate who finds his greatest reward in supporting his peers and watching the team succeed.
Malachi admires those who play with intensity, lead with integrity, and live out their faith in Christ unashamedly. Growing up, Bo Bichette was his favourite athlete to watch. Off the field, he looks up to people who stand in the gap and advocate for those without a voice. Closer to home, he deeply respects his dad, striving to emulate his patience, forgiveness, and unconditional love for others and Christ.
When Malachi was cut from a high-performance team, he used the setback as fuel. He doubled down on his craft, mastered his emotions, and grew far more disciplined. That mindset paid off: the next year, he made the AAA team, was named captain, and led them to provincials with stellar pitching and hitting. He applied that same drive to school to make the honour roll. His resilience unlocked his potential, leading him this year to play at Canada's highest level and represent his country at PAC NW.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Youth Athlete of the Year, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
