What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Malcolm loves football because it brings together his passion, determination, and hard work. The game challenges him to become a better athlete, teammate, and person. He loves competing, improving his skills, and pushing through challenges. Football has taught him discipline, confidence, leadership, teamwork, and perseverance. Most importantly, it gives him a sense of purpose and joy while building friendships and creating lasting memories.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Malcolm’s mother, a retired Navy veteran and single mom, inspires him every day through her strength, sacrifice, discipline, and perseverance. She has taught him the value of commitment, responsibility, hard work, and never giving up. Her example motivates him to push through challenges on the football field and in life. Malcolm is proud of all she has accomplished and strives to make her proud by becoming the best athlete, teammate, and person he can be.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

I am incredibly proud of Malcolm for stepping into a captain role this football season. Watching him earn the respect of his coaches and teammates through his hard work, character, and leadership has been amazing. Even teammates who are older than him look to him and respect his example. He has shown that true leadership is earned through actions, not age. Seeing Malcolm grow into this role and lead with confidence makes me incredibly proud.
