What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Malek loves that sports always give him another level to chase. Football brings the competition, basketball brings the creativity, and track pushes him to see how fast he can go. He loves being part of a team, competing with friends, and getting better every day. For him, it’s simple: “You don’t rise to the level of your goals; you fall to the level of your training.” He loves the work, the challenge, the adrenaline, and pushing himself to be better than he was yesterday.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Deion Sanders inspires Malek because he represents more than athletic greatness. Malek admires how Coach Prime has excelled in multiple sports, expects greatness from himself, and brings that same commitment to everything he does. Most importantly, Malek respects how Deion prioritizes his family and faith while pursuing excellence. To Malek, he shows that being a great athlete is only part of being a great person.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

His proudest athletic moment was dunking in a game during 8th grade. He spent so much of his free time working on his jump and trying to get better because he wanted to be able to dunk during a real game. When he finally did it, it felt like all those hours of work had paid off. It showed him that if he stay consistent, work hard, and don’t give up, he can accomplish the goals he set for myself.
