Learn MoreThey love playing football because he can be someone else on the field. His confidence is on high, and he love friendly competition. I believe football is his gift and he loves that it keeps him busy and off the streets causing trouble.
His grandfather inspires him. A few years back his grandfather had gotten really sick, and it crushed our family. His grandfather made all games , little league, middle school, and high school games was now hard for him to make because he is still very ill, but he still make at least two games ! Malik wishes he can make more of course. Malik and his grandfather talk sports all day and night if they could. He encourages him a lot with sports and life.
The proudest moment in Malik’s journey I believe was getting Student athlete of the year: As a 10th grader that was such a big accomplishment! On top of MVP in track and Field, MVP in wrestling also, and most improved player in Football.
