Learn MoreMarcel loves catching. It’s truly his happy place. He loves stopping balls and the mental side of the position, knowing what to do and where to be. What he loves most is that there is always something new to learn and so many different aspects of catching that he can continue to improve on.
Marcel’s mom inspires him because she coaches him, encourages him, and is always teaching him new things. He loves learning from her and having her by his side as he continues to grow as a player.
A moment that makes me the proudest is when things weren’t going his way. Whether it was hitting or catching. He was moved to the outfield, but he didn’t get down on himself. He kept trying, did his best, and then made an AMAZING catch. If he had given up, that play never would have happened. That’s what I’m most proud of. Not just the catch, but the fact that he kept going.
