What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Marcellus loves sports because they push him to be disciplined, determined, and the best version of himself. Through wrestling, jiu-jitsu, and judo, he has developed strength, confidence, respect, and outstanding sportsmanship. He enjoys challenging himself, learning new skills, and making lifelong friendships along the way. For Marcellus, sports is more than a competition - it helps shape his character, teaches him perseverance, teamwork, respect for others, and to never give up!!!

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Marcellus is inspired by his family every day, His brother supports and encourages him daily. His dad takes him to every practice, trains with him five days a week, and pushes him to believe in himself and never give up. His mom provides the love, care, and nurturing that keeps him grounded. Together, his family inspires Marcellus to work hard, stay humble, and become the best athlete and person he can be.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

The moment in Marcellus’s athletic journey that makes me the proudest is watching him step onto the mat and give his absolute best, win or lose. Seeing how far he has come since starting at such a young age, while remaining humble, respectful, and determined, reminds me that his greatest achievement is not just what he accomplishes in competition, but the character he continues to build along the way.
