Learn MoreThe most enjoyable part about running is the racing. I enjoy the competition, the nerves, and eventually the glory when I finish the race, whether I win or lose. A very close second place is the relationships I make and the way I shape those around me. Watching my team grow as a result of my inspiration (primarily through actions, but sometimes also through words) makes me feel like a proud older brother looking at all the younger teammates.
My inspiration comes from myself, but not current me. On and off the field, I inspire myself by looking into the future, and seeing how much of a difference every small decision I make can be. I always aspire to be better than my current self, but I also find myself aspiring to be better than the me that I envision in the future
There are so many moments where I’ve been proud of myself, like when I first learned how to race long distances, and when I first hit my 1 year run streak, and especially when I first broke 16 in the 5km. However, what made me the most proud is when I learned that no matter what, win or lose, it’s always so much easier to come off the course or the track with a smile on my face, which was only recently.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Youth Athlete of the Year, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
