One moment I am most proud of is her becoming MVP and Student-Athlete of the Year after only one year in the sport, despite starting with no experience. I am also incredibly proud of her courage in boxing. Because there are few athletes her age in our city, she often spars with older athletes, including men. It takes tremendous heart and fearlessness to step into that ring, and she continues to show courage, determination, and strength every time.
