What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

What she loves most about sports is the way they make her feel—confident, strong, and free to be herself. Whether she’s cheering on the sideline, competing, running track, or playing flag football, she loves being part of a team, encouraging others, and pushing herself to be better. Sports give her a place to forget about life’s challenges and simply enjoy being a teenager. She loves the friendships, teamwork, competition, and the feeling of accomplishing something she worked hard for.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

The person who inspires her most is her aunt, who has helped raise her since birth and has always been there through life’s ups and downs. Her aunt encourages her to keep going, believe in herself, and never let circumstances define who she is. She is also inspired by her coaches and teammates, who push her to work harder and remind her that she is capable of more than she realizes. Their support motivates her to keep growing, both as an athlete and as a young woman.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

One of the moments that makes me proudest is watching her step onto the field, track, or competition floor and give her all, even on days when she is carrying personal hurt that no one else can see. She continues to show up, encourage her teammates, and compete with determination. Seeing her push through difficult moments, overcome self-doubt, and still find the courage to perform reminds me how strong she truly is. Her ability to keep going is the achievement I’m most proud of.
