What is Youth Athlete of the Year?
Learn MoreMason loves the feeling of being on the field, competing, improving, and being part of something bigger than himself. He loves the teamwork and connection with his teammates, but especially the challenge of pushing himself to become a better player. Soccer gives him a place to work hard, have fun, build confidence, and learn that every practice and every game is an opportunity to grow.
Mason is inspired by the people who believe in him and challenge him to be better—especially his coaches, teammates, and family. His coaches inspire him to keep learning and pushing himself, while his teammates remind him that soccer is about trust, teamwork, and supporting one another. Most of all, he is inspired by the people who continue to encourage him through both successes and challenges, teaching him that character matters just as much as talent.
One of the moments that makes me most proud was watching Mason earn his place on his team through tryouts. I watched him work hard, push through the nerves, and continue believing in himself even when the outcome wasn’t guaranteed. Seeing his dedication pay off was incredibly rewarding, but what made me proudest was knowing that he earned it through effort, perseverance, and his love for the game.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Youth Athlete of the Year, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
