He loves the competition. He loves the hard work. He lives for the challenge. He embraces every moment as a chance to become the best wrestler he can be.
Olympic champion David Taylor is his wrestling hero. He was a true leader and champion with Penn State. He was a great ambassador for the US at the Olympics. NOW he is an amazing coach at Oklahoma State.
His results have never really mattered to me. I expect him to grow from every competition, but my proudest moment is him placing 5th at DDAY Nationals in San Diego. Not his best placement, but a great attitude and was graceful in his losses. Even though he lost a tough match, he continued supporting his team and learned to surrender to the outcome and not let his emotions control him. He simply said "he beat me, but not next time" and ran to another mat to support his friend.
