Me and his father we never let him talk down on himself we’ve always praised him and pushed him to not give up on things. Anytime he is mad at himself for a play going wrong or his team losing we always remind him that it’s a game and now he knows what to focus on and push harder at. He said when he’s playing and is feeling down he can look up and see us in the stands and push through and excel because he knows we are there.
His 8th grade year they played a team who had an Autistic child on it and my son made sure to help the kid get lined up correctly made sure not to hit him to hard and was just so nice to him. The coaches for that team stopped him after the game to shake his hand and thank him for being such a good sport.
