Receive Text UpdatesHe loves the competition, the adrenaline, and seeing his hard work turn into results. Sports have also given him friendships and bonds with athletes who share the same passion. Winning feels great, but setting new goals, breaking personal records, and proving to himself that he can keep improving is what he loves most.
Mason is inspired by his granddaddy, Tim Barnett, a former NFL player and Hall of Famer. He admires not just what he accomplished, but the hard work and discipline it took to get there. His granddaddy taught him that talent can open doors, but character, dedication, and consistency keep them open. Mason wants to build his own name and earn every opportunity through his own work.
Watching Mason become a USATF All-American is one of my proudest moments. After years of training, sacrifices, setbacks, traveling, and pushing himself, he stepped onto the national stage and proved he belonged. I was proud of the accomplishment, but even prouder of the determination behind it. He continues to show me that when he sets a goal, he is willing to work for it.
