What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Mason loves soccer because it has taught him that true athleticism is about resilience and character, not just a scoreboard. Being his first year, and though he wasn't the best, he never gave up. When another boy told him he was no good and shouldn't play, he didn't get mad or quit. He knew it was okay because he could get better by working hard and learning. Being on a team shows that sports are all about working together.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Mason says his dad and grandpa George are his biggest heroes. They never give up on anything, even when things are super hard. Watching them makes him want to do his best and be better every single day. They taught him that having a great attitude and working hard is what matters most. Because of them, He knows how to stay strong and not listen when people are mean to him. He tries his hardest every day to make his dad and grandpa proud, and they encourage him to keep learning and growing.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

What makes me proud of Mason isn't how he plays, but knowing that whatever a bully says, he stays strong. In his first year of soccer, he wasn't the best, but he never stopped trying. His true character showed when a friend texted that he was no good. Instead of getting mad or quitting, Mason said it was okay because he can get better by working hard and learning. At 9, he already knows being a real athlete means you never give up. He has work, heart, and a great attitude.
