What is Youth Athlete of the Year?
Learn MoreWhat Matteo loves most about playing sports is the feeling of competing and pushing himself to become better. He loves the adrenaline of game day, working with his teammates, and knowing that his hard work in practice can make a difference. Sports challenge him mentally and physically, teach him how to handle pressure, and give him goals to work toward. Most of all, he loves improving and accomplishing things he has worked hard for.
Here’s a strong third-person answer: Matteo is inspired most by his parents and the athletes he looks up to. His parents inspire him through their hard work, support, and dedication to their family. On the field, he looks up to athletes who stay disciplined, work through challenges, and never stop improving. They remind him that success comes from consistency, effort, and believing in yourself even when things get difficult.
The moment Matteo is proudest of in his athletic journey is winning the state championship in soccer. In the final, he saved three penalties during the shootout, helping his team win the championship. After all the practices, pressure, and hard work throughout the season, being able to make those saves and celebrate with his teammates was an unforgettable moment. It showed him the importance of staying focused, confident, and prepared when it matters most.
