Learn MoreMatthew loves baseball because it gives him a chance to compete, have fun, and be surrounded by his teammates. He loves the excitement of the game, challenging himself to get better, and making memories on the field. Most of all, he simply loves the game and plays with his whole heart.
Matthew is inspired by three generations of strong men in his life—his great-grandpa, his grandpa, and his dad. They have taught him the importance of hard work, determination, respect, and never giving up. On and off the field, Matthew carries their love, lessons, and example with him, always striving to make them proud.
One of my proudest moments is seeing Matthew cheer for everyone, whether they’re his teammate or on the opposing team. He understands that baseball is bigger than winning—it’s about sportsmanship, respect, and lifting others up. Seeing his kind heart shine on and off the field makes me incredibly proud.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Youth Athlete of the Year, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
