What is Youth Athlete of the Year?
Learn MoreMatthew loves tennis because it challenges him to be his best every day. He enjoys competing, learning new skills, and pushing himself to improve with every match. He loves the excitement of tournaments, the friendships he makes, and the confidence the sport has given him. Most of all, he enjoys the opportunity to work hard, overcome challenges, and never give up, no matter the score.
Matthew is inspired by his father and Carlos Alcaraz. His father teaches him the value of hard work, discipline, humility, and never giving up, both on and off the court. Carlos Alcaraz inspires him with his passion, fearless style of play, sportsmanship, and determination to compete at the highest level. Together, they motivate Matthew to be a better tennis player, student, and person every day.
Matthew truly embodies determination and sportsmanship. He enjoyed every match and embraced the competition with a positive attitude. Even after suffering an injury, he refused to give up. He showed resilience by continuing to play and compete, giving his best effort until the very end. His perseverance, love for the game, and never-quit attitude make him an outstanding young athlete.
