Matthis is inspired by his dad, who was a basketball player himself and has always been someone he looks up to. He is also inspired by making his family and friends proud. Whether he’s on the court competing or off the court making people laugh and smile, Matthis loves entertaining people and bringing joy to those around him. He wants to work hard, make the people he loves proud, and become the best athlete and person he can be!
Watching him believe in himself has been one of the greatest parts of his athletic journey. We get to watch him step onto the court believing that he belongs there. Seeing him realize that his hard work, determination, and love for the game are helping him become a better player has been so special to both of us. We are most proud when he makes a mistake, learns from it, and keeps going instead of letting it discourage him.
